Gilles Simon Biography
G. Simon born December 27, 1984 is a French professional tennis player who is currently ranked World No. 13 and French No. 2 as of July 2008. After turning pro in 2002, it took him five years to claim his first ATP Tour title, the 2007 Marseille Open. To date, he has won five ATP tournaments. In the second round of the 2008 Rogers Cup in Toronto, Canada, he upset World No. 1 Roger Federer in three sets. In the 2008 Madrid Masters, he defeated World No. 1 Rafael Nadal in 3 sets to reach the finals.
